Börek, a Turkish cheese pastry, garnished with warm blueberry aigre-doux, makes a perfect holiday appetizer!

Ingredients

100g soft goat cheese
100g feta cheese, crumbled
1 egg, beaten and divided in half
salt and pepper
half of a 1-pound box filo dough (I use Ziyad brand)
2-ounces melted butter
black or tan sesame seeds
1 Jar Sessions Blueberry Aigre-Doux

Directions

Preheat oven to 375F and grease a sheet pan.

Mix together goat cheese, feta and half the egg, season with salt and pepper.

Place a sheet of filo on a flat surface and brush with melted butter, place another over the top and brush with butter.

Using a pizza cutter, cut sheet into 3 strips.

Place a generous tablespoon of the cheese mixture on one end.

Fold the end of the strip over the filling diagonally to form a triangle.  Continue folding like this until the strip ends and you have a stuffed pastry triangle.

Place on baking tray, brush the remaining egg mixture on each pastry, sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Repeat this process until you have used up all the filling.

Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

While the börek are baking, place the blueberry aigre-doux in a saucepan, and reduce the mixture until it has a syrupy consistency (this can be done in advance).

Serve the börek with the warm blueberry aigre-doux on the side, and enjoy!
